Shop Fitting Layout and Design

Shopfitting is more than accessories, fixtures and furniture. It is about fulfilling a client’s vision and designing a space that is engaging, functional and within budget.

Ensuring shoppers receive the full retail experience within a store, attention is given to store layout, traffic flow, fittings, etc:

Store Layout

A well-designed store layout is about creating for the customer an enhanced retail experience. When designing a layout, some factors that need to be taken in to consideration are:

·       Space available

·       Product placement

·       Entry and exit points

·       Lighting

·       Signage

·       Fixtures

·       Traffic Flow

Traffic Flow

How a store directs their traffic flow will depend on the type of store and the products displayed.

Many retail stores such as supermarkets display their products in aisles. These are typically in grid style and are designed to maximise floor space. Some department stores direct customers in one direction ensuring they get the most out of their product display. Others have a free flow pattern where customers are encouraged to browse through the store and some use a combination of flows.

All have their advantages and disadvantages, knowing which layout will suit your needs is where Samico can provide their skill and expertise.

Fittings

Your fixtures and fittings will often depend on the type of shop fit needed. For stores that have a variety of products such as pharmacy, fashion, hardware, retail etc; fittings may include adjustable shelving, slat wall panels as well as custom joinery.  Understanding a client’s vision and needs, Samico can recommend the most cost-effective fittings with regards to store layout and traffic flow.
